CITROËN CELEBRATES DOUBLE WIN IN PARKERS NEW CAR AWARDS 2021
Citroën has had a successful time of it in this year’s Parkers New Car Awards, with Berlingo Van named ‘Best Small Van’ and the new Citroën ë-Dispatch winning the ‘Best Electrified Van’ prize. Both models were commended for their operator-friendly running costs, payload capacities and the Citroën brand’s easy driving experience.
Citroën has taken home two LCV trophies in the 2021 Parkers New Car Awards. Citroën Berlingo Van won ‘Best Small Van’ – for the second consecutive year – while the new Citroën ë-Dispatch won the title of ‘Best Electrified Van’ ahead of competitors such as Renault Master ZE and Ford Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid.
The multi-award winning Berlingo Van adds the Parkers ‘Best Small Van’ victory to a long list of accolades that includes ‘International Van of the Year’ in 2019. The expert judges praised the Berlingo Van’s many qualities, including its low running costs and comfortable interior, which helped to see off the competition from other shortlisted rivals, the Ford Transit Connect and Ford Fiesta Van.
CJ Hubbard, Vans and Pickup Editor, Parkers.co.uk, said: “The Citroën Berlingo is a clever small van, with great payload capacity, low running costs and an easy driving experience. This all-round combination of capability makes it an award winner for Parkers – and the people who buy them.”
Keith Adams, Editor of Parkers.co.uk, added: “It’s a highly competitive class, so to be this far ahead of the game is a very impressive achievement for Citroën. It’s a well-deserved award.”
Parkers is the UK’s most-trusted site for new and used vehicle pricing, advice and road tests. Now in its fourth year, the Parkers New Car Awards name the best vehicles across a number of important sectors. For the 2021 awards, Parkers added the new ‘Best Electrified Van’ category to recognise the rising importance of electrification in the LCV market.
CJ Hubbard said: “Breaking new ground for electric vans, the ë-Dispatch means customers don’t have to choose between outstanding payload and driving range in order to best meet their specific requirements. Add a keen price and the ability to tow, and Citroën is clearly on to a winner.”
The new all-electric Citroën ë-Dispatch is available to order now and delivers driver and passenger comfort, and the smooth and serene driving experience that is synonymous with the Citroën brand. There is also a host of safety and driving assistance equipment, all wrapped up with the zero CO2 emissions drivetrain.
By offering a choice of three lengths (XS, M, XL) and two battery sizes (50kWh and 75kWh) – providing a range of up to 205 miles from a single charge (75kWh versions) – ë-Dispatch provides users with a wide variety of choice. In addition, three trim levels are available, entry level ‘X’ offering all the standard specification you would expect from a Citroën LCV. Mid-specifcation ‘Enterprise’ versions enjoy additional features including rear parking sensors, a Thatcham category one alarm, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, 7-inch colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto. Top of the range ‘Driver’ models come very well appointed with the addition of Active Safety Brake, driver attention alert, front parking sensors, smart beam headlights, lane departure warning system, blind-spot monitoring, Visio Park 180° rear parking camera and Citroën Connect Nav with voice recognition.
