A Podium And Two Category Wins For Citroën In The 2020 Dieselcar & Ecocar Magazine ‘Top 50’
Citroën C5 Aircross SUV has placed third overall and retained its ‘Best Medium SUV’ title in the 2020 DieselCar & EcoCar ‘Top 50’. Meanwhile, Grand C4 SpaceTourer snatched the ‘Best MPV’ win and the out-going C4 Cactus was also named in the magazine’s list of the best cars to own this year in the UK.
Citroën’s C5 Aircross SUV has placed third overall – and retained its ‘Best Medium SUV’ crown – in the 2020 DieselCar & EcoCar ‘Top 50’, which recognises the 50 best vehicles to own in the UK today. C5 Aircross SUV impressing judges with its all-round ability, style and its outstanding ride comfort.
Ian Robertson, editor and publisher of DieselCar & EcoCar magazine, said: “We love the C5 Aircross SUV’s unique approach and it seems to appeal to a different set of customers. At the heart of this is Citroën’s Advanced Comfort programme, with the aim of making every journey as relaxing as possible. Unique ‘Progressive Hydraulic Cushion’ suspension and armchair-like seats take the sting out of bumps and speed humps, for a laid-back drive. Move the rear seats forwards and the 580-litre boot can swell to a massive 720-litres, boosting versatility enormously.”
The Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer also scooped a DieselCar & EcoCar award, taking home the ‘Best MPV’ trophy – having previously won the ‘Best Medium MPV’ category four years in a row. The judges were left impressed with the car’s high-tech interior, efficient diesel engines and seven-seat versatility – all important features for MPV buyers.
Robertson said: “Arguably one of the best-looking MPVs of all time, the Grand C4 SpaceTourer was updated with extra equipment last year, ushering in the Plus trim levels. All are well kitted out with a massive 12-inch instrument cluster and seven-inch touchscreen with navigation system as standard. Easy to drive, it wafts around town with superb comfort, both for driver and occupants.”
The out-going C4 Cactus – which is soon to be replaced by New C4 and New ë-C4 - 100% ëlectric – was also named in the top 50, ranking 42nd overall. The DieselCar & EcoCar judges praised its stylish looks, while Citroën’s suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions® again earned high marks for its plush ride comfort.
