SSANGYONG MUSSO SWOOPS ANOTHER AWARD AS IT'S VOTED DIESELCAR & ECOCAR MAGAZINES "BEST PICK-UP" 2019

SsangYong’s all-new Musso has been voted “Best Pick-up” in the DieselCar & EcoCar Magazine’s Car of the Year 2019 Top 50 Awards.
New Musso has already been voted “No-nonsense Pick-up” by Pick-up & 4x4 pro magazine and “Best Pick-up under £25k” by WhatCar? Magazine. All commentators have been repeatedly impressed by the Musso’s winning combination of build quality, space, refinement, comfort and value for money.
Diesel Car's journalist judging panel were unequivocal in their remarks: “First in the countdown is our favourite pick-up truck, the SsangYong Musso. It’s no coincidence its name sounds muscular, because its 2.2-litre diesel engine churns out 178bhp, giving it an all-important 3,500kg towing capacity along with its load bed’s one tonne payload. It looks good too, with all models fitted with alloy wheels, air conditioning, keyless start, six airbags, a rain sensor and automatic headlights, as well as a full-size spare wheel. The bargain £25,131 OTR price tag and seven-year/150,000-mile warranty seals the deal...”
In securing this latest award, Nick Laird, managing director of SsangYong Motors UK, said; “We’re delighted to win the “Best Pick-Up” in the DieselCar & EcoCar Magazine’s Car of the Year 2019 Top 50 Awards.” Laird continued; “The all-new SsangYong Musso pick-up arrived in the UK last summer and is disrupting the pick-up market as a tough, strong and value-for-money 4x4.”
Built on the same architecture as the new Rexton which has already been awarded ‘4x4 of the Year 2018’ by 4x4 magazine - Musso shares its body-on-frame construction to give an extremely strong vehicle that delivers excellent off-road driving performance and safety from its quad-frame and four-wheel-drive system.
The new Musso is an extremely competent multi-purpose truck with SsangYong values to the core - comprehensively equipped, an industry leading 7-year/ 150,000-mile warranty with a value for money package, plus a surprising level of interior refinement and great infotainment.
Designed to carry passengers in comfort and transport loads securely, the SUV-based Musso combines a five-seat crew-cab body style with a workman-like load deck that will take a full-sized Euro pallet. It also carries a payload of over 1-tonne and tows trailers of up to 3.5 tonnes concurrently to give the highest total load capacity in the segment. This combination of utility pick-up and SUV means Musso offers the perfect blend of functionality, practicality, performance and comfort to the driver and family or workmates.
Musso is powered by the same e-XDi220 engine found in the Rexton, and delivers a maximum power of 181ps at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 400Nm at 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or an Aisin 6-speed automatic with its success proven by SsangYong and several other automotive brands.
Inside, Musso is exceptionally well equipped compared with other pick-ups, and as well as offering excellent shoulder and leg room front and rear, Nappa leather seats can be found on the top of the range model for added luxury and comfort. DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity feature across the range, while all but the entry level model feature a state-of-the-art infotainment system that includes an 8-inch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and phone mirroring, or 9.2-inch screen with TomTom navigation on top line models.
New Musso is available throughout SsangYong’s UK dealer network with three trim level options and a house if dedicated accessories.
